How long does each appointment take?

Appointments are  30mins in duration, however, we will always book you for 45mins to ensure we are able to provide you with a high quality service without being rushed, while still remaining on time for our other appointments. This approach to booking means we are able take our time to understand  your needs,  answer any questions you may have and tailor your treatment for your conditions.

What should I wear to my appointments?

Comfortable loose fitting clothes are best. This can be work clothes that you are comfortable bending and twisting in, active wear or anything in between. We have change room facilities should you need to change your attire before your appointment.

What kind of appointments do we offer?

All exercise physiology appointments are one to one.

getback offers a variety  of appointments

– Free Evaluation: this is your first getback appointment. It allows us to spend time with you to ensure that your condition is appropriate for this treatment.

– One to one consults: this gives us critical time with you to structure your program to your exact needs.

– Group sessions: A group  session has a  maximum capacity of 4. During a group session, you will be completing your tailored treatment program under the guidance of the treating AEP. There are 6 getback devices, and careful management by the AEP means that  4 people can comfortably rotate through the devices to complete their program . The treating AEP remains with the group for the duration of the session, moving around the room to spend one on one time with each person.

We accept Chronic Disease Management plans (formerly known as EPC), TAC, and Workcover cases with a referral from your GP.

What is an Exercise Physiologist (AEP)?

An Exercise Physiologist is a tertiary trained health professional, with a minimum of 4 years training specialising in the implementation of movement therapies for those with (or at risk of developing) chronic conditions, ranging from musculoskeletal to cardiovascular and neurological conditions.

All Exercise Physiologists are required to be accredited by ESSA (Exercise and Sports Science Australia), adhere to the industry’s code of practice and ongoing professional development and are recognised by Medicare, Worksafe, TAC and most private health insurers.

Can I claim Exercise Physiology and getback services on my Private Health Insurance?

Yes, both Exercise Physiology and getback are claimable if you have Exercise Physiology cover on your Private Health Insurance. Level of cover varies between Health Insurance Providers.

How many sessions do I require?

For Exercise Physiology sessions, your Accredited Exercise Physiologist will provide you with an estimate of the number of sessions required during your initial appointment.

Depending on your level of pain and strength of muscles, a program of sessions lasting between 6 – 12 weeks for getback is generally recommended. Sessions are scheduled twice per week.
